What even is this?” Luna checks the fit and keeps talking about last night. “I really am surprised you managed to get away from an officer.” There is no getting away from this.\n\n“Sit on this bench.” CC is sat down on the cold steel bench, and the officer kneels and locks the hanging end of the waist chain to the bench rail with another handcuff. Then she walks out and leaves her there.\n\nWhat follows is a long, quiet wait. CC sits naked on the bench in the waist chain, cuffed behind her back, chained to the rail, bare feet on the floor, testing the slack and finding none. She shifts, she leans back against the wall, she looks at the door. Nobody comes for a long time. That’s what happens.” The black hinged handcuffs lock her wrists behind her back to the chain, and Luna kneels to clamp the black shackles around her bare ankles. “I’m not having you escape again. So it’s tight enough.” CC agrees they are very tight.\n\nThen the officer adds “one more layer of security”: a set of thumb cuffs locked over CC’s thumbs behind her back. “Even if I could, my hands are still cuffed.” Forehead on the wall while Luna checks everything one more time, then a short shackled walk down the corridor to the barred cell. “Inside.”\n\nThe cell door locks with CC still in everything. “You’re not even going to take these off?” No. “Okay, I’m in the cage now.” “You’re an escape risk. You did this to yourself.” Another officer stops by with a witness on the phone, and Luna leaves her with “Looks like you’re going to be in here for quite some time. Have fun.” CC sits down on the cot in the waist chain, hinged cuffs, thumb cuffs and shackles. “I can’t even lay down like this.”\n\nThe End.", "videos": [] } },
