CC gets quiet.\n\nThe interrogation starts right there in the living room. CC remembers getting “a little drunk.” Luna remembers the yelling, the running, and the cop CC wiggled away from. “That sounds like the cop was not very good at their job,” CC says, hands still locked behind her. Then it is a shackle shuffle out the door and into the booking room, where the hinged cuffs are switched to the front one wrist at a time, hand on head in between, and the cuff chain is locked down to the heavy steel ring bolted to the desk.\n\nChained to the desk, CC listens to the charges stack up: a drink thrown in a woman’s face, a statue climbed on private property, property damage, noise complaints, assault, trespassing. She invokes her rights and asks for her one phone call.
